Conducted by: MÁTÉ HÁMORI

  • Rhyming Ball at the Orchestra – interactive rhymed instrument presentation based on Benjamin Britten’s composition

How many instruments there are in an orchestra and each of them does something completely different… How do they come to a harmony and what are the differences between the instruments? Which one may chirp and which one has a “brutal voice of steel”? Which big instrument conceals a player of a sensitive heart and what is the use of a conductor? These are the questions that the final concert of the series will answer in an entertaining manner: Máté Hámori will present the instruments and the tricks of the trade of the orchestra in rhymes, via the series of variations that Benjamin Britten composed for pupils. What is more, a lucky member of the audience may test how it feels to be a conductor for the orchestra!

We released our series of interactive concerts for the youth in spring 2014. Its specialty is that our programs are taken right in the middle of the communities of the youth: schools. Motivated by the great successes, we continue the roadshow in schools this autumn, moreover, we present a brand new show to introduce teenagers to the charming world of symphonic music, chamber music and the musical stage.
