We cannot refrain from believing in something. And if God’s lost and also the belief in humankind is lost, what will remain? Then what may seem eternal and sacred in the world gets seized and art gets discovered. A prayer murmured to nothingness, a message thrown to the depth of a fountain, and yet expecting an answer, if not from the fountain, from each other. And all of a sudden, this starts working: people get together to admire the carefully groomed notes of our objectless faith forged into music. And this togetherness is so good: it gives hope and plants creed into the other hearts stiffened into sorrow. And wonder of wonders, here, the solitude of the artist, the creator and the listener look at each other in the miracle of the moment. And in that precise moment, they perceive they are not alone.
