Händel was finally put to the pedestal by the singers, into heights no author has reached before, though he would perhaps detest this allegation. It was his wondrous opera successes that brought him world fame, although the master of the knowingly fiery temperament could often stay in control of the superstars of that era, the singers only by quarrels ending up with batteries. Singers whom he had no high opinion of, anyway. What would he think of Emőke Baráth, one of Hungary’s most distinguished singer? This is something You have to adjudge on the occasion of an aria recital by which we cover the key cornerstones of that unbelievable oeuvre.
