46 operas, 90 sonatas, more than 500 concertos, including four that provoked peculiar position in the history of music. The violin concertos presenting the seasons had an incredible impact on posterity, starting from Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s rearrangement to Piazzolla’s tango paraphrase, despite the beauty sleep of these works for two centuries. However, it is still worth to investigate these half thousand concertos: what we may find is an impllausible richness in the assignment of instruments as well as special Vivaldi effects.
