is a versatile percussionist and drummer engaged in an array of contemporary and classical genres as an avid collaborator & soloist. He was granted the Annie Fischer Scholarship Award of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary twice, endorsing several solo and chamber music concerts between 2017 and 2019. He had the privilage to develop through the invaluable experience of working with composers such as Steve Reich, David Lang, Péter Eötvös, Helmut Lachenmann, in addition to several chief orchestras and ensembles. As a percussionist of Concerto Budapest symphony orchestra he performs with the Ligeti Ensemble as well. Previously Daniel was a member of the Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok and has been a regular guest of the Danubia Orchestra for many years. He performed at the world’s premier percussion festival, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in the USA. As a sophomore he won the Italy Percussive Arts Society’s (PAS) 2012 International Percussion Competition’s Timpani category in Fermo, Italy. Concluding 15 years of percussion and 4 years of jazz studies – including key masterclasses at Northwestern University (USA) and Croatia Drum Camp – Daniel graduated from the Liszt Academy, Budapest, studying with Zoltán Rácz and Szabolcs Joó. – danieljanca.com
